What Makes CJDS Different? CJDS was founded in 1992 by Rabbi Meir and Sheindal Muller, to provide the Columbia Jewish Community with excellent Jewish Education. Our educational goals are known as “the Four Pillars”, and include 1. Academic rigor with an emphasis on inquiry, 2. Active Nurturing, 3. Social Justice, and 4. Jewish Life Skills. Our Educational Model is patterned on the groundbreaking work by Jean Piaget, Lev Vygotsky, Loris Malaguzzi, and others in the field of constuctivism and student-centered education.
